I watch more TV than any man… basically because I have to have noise in the background at all times. I’m just that way.
I can count on two hands how many times I did my homework in the library during college. I did all my work from our crappy dorm room futon while football games or The Real World played in the background.
Travel Channel, A&E, MTV, FOX News, AMC, Food Network, Discovery Channel… whether it’s Laguna Beach catfights or crab fishermen in Alaska on the Deadliest Catch – I’ll watch it while I work.
That said… this is an impossible question for me to answer.
Question:
-
If you had to pick one – just one – TV channel to watch for the rest of your life… what channel would that be? (It can be more than one for the TV obsessed like myself)

HGTV.
8:17 am on Jun 29 2006And… the only reason you watch SO much more TV than the rest of us is because all of “us” have jobs… places where we are required to be from roughly 8am – 5pm. And they don’t allow TVs in my cubicle.
8:18 am on Jun 29 2006I’d go with ABC if I had to pick one. Main reason: Lost. Added bonuses: College football and NBA Playoffs. However, if I only had one chanel, I would then fork over the money for ESPN mobile just to get my daily sports need. Also, once Lost ends, I’d want ESPN to be my only channel.
8:22 am on Jun 29 2006Bravo or Travel Channel
8:23 am on Jun 29 2006Food Network. All I need is Giada.
(i’m assuming of course I can still buy “24″ and “Lost” DVD box sets)
9:34 am on Jun 29 2006Ernest…I am right there with you! I am sure you enjoy Giada for different reasons, but I own both of her cookbooks and I LOVE her. Food Network is where its AT, despite what Tuminello says.
10:24 am on Jun 29 2006HGTV will take down Food Network ANYDAY, Keyes.
10:38 am on Jun 29 2006ESPN, HANDS DOWN
10:45 am on Jun 29 2006Bravo or Discovery Health or SoapNet. Because I could just about watch any show on those channels any time of day.
10:46 am on Jun 29 2006Cooking is way cooler than making a wreath out of leaves and fake berries, Tuminello.
12:58 pm on Jun 29 2006Do you guys really like Giada? Sure, she’s the best looking celeb on the network (there’s not much competition), but she can be slightly annoying, especially her voice. Of course, she’s not as annoying as the Barefoot Contessa. Also, how is the Barefoot Contessa so fat? The food she cooks is not really unhealthy (a lot of fresh items), yet she’s still a “tank”. I think she’s making frequent trips to Captain D’s (off camera) rather than eating her normal tomato & feta salad or vegetable sushi.
I think Bobby Flay is my favorite, and also, I just remembered, Alton Brown is the most annoying individual on television…yet I still find myself watching his show at times.
My answer: ESPN
1:42 pm on Jun 29 2006You’ve obviously never watched HGTV, keyes. They do things like exchange formica countertops with granite ones for $5. Martha Stewart and her “wreath making” comes on another channel, honey.
If you can’t cook, you can always go out to eat. If your house sucks your house just sucks. Until you watch a little HGTV, that is!
2:29 pm on Jun 29 2006Giada’s voice is no where near as annoying as Rachel Ray’s. Plus Rachel’s recipes while easy aren’t really all the special. Plus she looks like a girl I had a thing with last year, and that girl sucks.
I used to think Bobby was kind of a douche but I’ve come around to liking the guy.
I would try to watch HGTV but for some reason on my free cable I get HGTV picture but the audio is from some Spanish music radio station. The shows all seem kind of gay though.
3:19 pm on Jun 29 2006Speaking of Rachel Ray, her clothes are worn WAY too tight. She needs to face the fact that she has no chest, and quit trying to show off those mosquito bites she thinks are boobs.
4:22 pm on Jun 29 2006I am back Lando, be proud – day #2. Job is GREAT but I work like fifty billion hours a week. Social life has taken a nosedive but I’m coming to Mississippi for 10 days in September!
My favorite tv channel is Fox News, hands down, but when I get home from work I can’t make myself watch it anymore. It is on in my office, constantly in front of my face for 10-12 hours a day. Past that I like to watch anything that requires absolutely no thinking. Usually like VH1 or E!.
5:19 pm on Jun 29 2006At my old job as a Republican Advertising Producer I had a flat screen TV that was near my desk. My boss used to put it on FOX News. As soon as he wasn’t looking I’d turn it to MSNBC (CNN might of gotten my fired). FOX gave me a headache.
As Jon Stewart said “that’s not news…that’s AM Radio.”
8:06 pm on Jun 29 2006I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Question of the Day: Click | because lightning bugs taste like chicken., but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
