Another flashback from the Nickelodeon stash. Anybody else out there besides me and Karen remember the show Fifteen?
This high school soap opera was addictive. Looking back at the videos, it was so bad it was good. And should come as no surprise (sorry Ernest) that it was filmed in Vancouver.

You know true story: before I graduated highschool I was approached by a fairly prominent Vancouver talent agent after he saw my lead performance in our school production of “Fiddler on the Roof” I went to his office downtown and read a scene for him from the then not released Virgin Suicides (the scene where josh Harnett asks permission of James Woods to take out Kirsten Dunst). He said that my performance as Tevye was the most amazing high school stage performance he’d ever seen but was worried my voice was too old or graveling sounding for most teenage parts and that admittingly I wasn’t the teen “heartthrob type” That and the fact I was an American citizen might make it difficult to get acting jobs in Canada. He said to give it two years of auditioning before I got a job and five years before I would get steady work. I thanked him for his time, but decided at 18 I wasn’t ready to live in the city alone and be an actor and instead followed my parents as they moved to Texas and to attend this mysterious “MC” that I had been accepted to and my parents were so keen on. I then completely gave up any sort of thespian pursuits and spent many a night having a “social life” (i.e. watching Veteto and Tyson play video games). I kept that agent’s card in my wallet for two years before eventually losing it. Anyway who knows if I had stayed, instead of being broke, living in NY with an MC degree hanging on my wall and just tonight being rejected by the first girl I really liked in 6 years I could of been partying up in Vancouver where I would of been known as Eric the School News Reporter on Smallville or Scared Inmate #2 in a Steven Segal/DMX film.
Move to Seattle.
Ernest, you wanna rock. Tomorrow – Roman Candle. Also, you should move to idaho (or someotherplace) and start an artist community. You can be the mayor.
I’m so glad you found Fifteen. I was addicted to that show and everytime it comes up no one knows what I’m talking about. Also, I’m so happy you live in Seattle. I met my now husband there and we honeymooned there.
anyone else notice the blonde in the 2nd clip is Marie “the evil bride” Warner from Season 2 of 24?
that and I think my friend use to buy pot from the kid in the red striped shirt in the park across from our middle school, but with the video quality it’s sort of tough to be sure.
