Ken Griffey Jr. makes his first return to Seattle tonight since leaving 11 years ago… and I’ll be there.
No real reason for posting this… except to get excited about hotdogs, and 73 degree weather, and a slight wind coming into SafeCo off the bay.

1:13 pm on Jun 22 2007Oh, and check out the SportsNation poll on the main page at espn.com.
1. I saw Griffey hit a homerun at Wrigley Field. One of my top sports moments.
2. Not to be “that guy” but Griffey left in 2000. He’s only been gone 8 years.
You are correct Chris. I should have checked my typing before I posted. What I meant to say was, he played in Seattle for 11 years. Oddly enough, this is his first time back in Seattle…period. He’s been in town for the last 2 days visiting his old houses, old friends, etc. It’s a little odd, especially since his wife grew up here. (She didn’t look to happy at the pre-game ceremony. I think somebody wants their hubby to ask for a trade back to the Northwest.)
One of my favorite baseball games ever was in 2005 when Griffey was at 499 homers. All the Reds homegames were sold out, thats a rarity here in cincy, but i got to go to a game. I’ve never been to a more enthusiastic baseball game. Griffey didnt hit a homer, but the crowd was definatly on his side. Dont we all wish it were he and not Barry Bonds who was about to hit 755.
