One of my biggest peaves in life is when people tell me that their job isn’t who they are, it’s just what they do. While I agree in a sense (I am by no means a workaholic, though I do love my job), your job is who you are in the sense that your impact upon the world, whether big or small, is most often a direct result of what you are paid to do between the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM.
I saw this quote the other day at work. It hits the nail on the head:
-
“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.”
Woodrow Wilson
28th president of US

Speaking of jobs…Anyone hiring?
Seriously.
Thanks.
