The Maroon Bet comes one step closer to fulfillment as Mississippi State hosts LSU (seriously, could the athletic department picked a better way to nationally embarrass their program?) tonight on ESPN.
LSU won 11 games in 2006.
MSU has won 11 games total in the last 4 years.
My God, my God… why hast thou forsaken State?
The Clinton Administration points us to an entertaining thread on a MSU fanboard: Pictorial predictions of the LSU game
Looks like Maroon is no longer the only color that matters. Now, Mississippi State students are being asked to wear white, not maroon like Coach Croom asked. Is this the beginning of the end for Croom?
Seriously, folks. We know we’ve been giving you Bulldogs (or ‘Dawgs) a hard time this week… but the road is about to get a bit bumpier. LSU comes to town tonight and the whole nation is watching.
We’re gonna catch out of work a little early so that we can have time to grab some grub and slide up in front of our living room TV for 3 hours of touchdown goodness. I think at this point, State’s main goal isn’t necessarily to win, but rather to not lose that bad.
We really are hoping that we get our due in this bet. We deal State a lot of heck around these parts… it’s only fitting that we got what’s coming to us. So… yeah… we’re getting ourselves excited about this football season for you.
…and you know what gets me fired up about Mississippi State football? OLD! MAIN!

5:30 pm on Aug 30 2007Your grandfather Howell stayed in old main while he was finishing up a degree after he was married. Remember that he was a Mississippi State man when you are picking on the dogs.
After following that game, I take my previous comment back…maybe the MC Choctaws should take on State…

Stuff like this makes me wish I had gone to a big football school for undergrad…I am afraid even with God forsaking the Bulldogs, they could still whoop a little Choctaw butt…
