Karen Howell (though she is in no way involved in the storyline) sent this to me the other day. Some of you may have already been forwarded this email as well. It’s an interaction between a guy and girl who both had profiles posted on Match.com.
I seem to remember someone putting my name on Match.com. Their selection for my username: HoLando
Here’s the email. When you’re done reading it, please visit his homepage.

So I winked at this guy on match. Should have known better considering his screen name was “IvyLeagueAlum”
He responds with the following email…
I went to an Ivy League school – the University of Pennsylvania – for my undergraduate degree in economics and my graduate degree in management (Wharton School of Business). Where did you go to school?
What activities do you currently participate in to stay in shape? I work out 4 times a week at LA Fitness. Do you exercise regularly? I am 6 feet tall, 185 pounds – what about yourself? I am truly sorry if that sounds rude, impolite or even downright crass, but I have been deceived before by inaccurate representations so I prefer someone be upfront and honest on initial contact…
I do mergers & acquisitions (corporate finance) for Limited Brands (Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, etc). Enjoy any of our stores/divisions?
Do you have any other recent pictures you care to share? I have many others if you care to see them.
Regards,
John

So, I in turn send him a polite “No Thanks” thru the match system which send him the following email:
Our Portraits didn’t match on:
A. Personality
To which he replies the following:
So next time you meet a guy of my caliber, instead of trying to turn it around, just get to the gym! I will even give you one free training session, so you don’t blow it with the next 8.9 on Hot or Not, Ivy League grad, Mensa member, can bench/squat/leg press over 1200 lbs., has had lunch with the secretary of defense, has an MBA from the top school in the country, lives in a Buckhead high rise, drives a Beemer convertible, has been in 14 major motion pictures, was in Jezebel’s Best dressed, etc. Oh, that is right, there aren’t any more of those!
Regards,
John
You have to look closely at the rocking chair. It slowly begins to rock… then you see something.
Remember that clip from the prank war I posted a couple weeks back? Well, this is one of the earlier pranks. A little different… just as funny.
Question:
With Halloween upon us… what’s the scariest thing that has ever happened to you?
It’s the 40th anniversary of ‘The Patterson Film’; the most “concrete” evidence that Bigfoot exists. As a kid I got a kick out of documentaries on TLC and the Discovery Chanel showcasing Bigfoot, UFOs, the Lockness Moster, etc.
Part of me still believes in Bigfoot, if only for the fact that it is absurd to do so.
The interaction between Dwight and Jim in last week’s episode of The Office was classic. On the whole, I think it may be one of the best episodes, ever.
After my small gaff earlier this week when I posted that State’s current record was 3-3 when, in actuality it was 4-3 (4 wins is a big deal in Pattytown), I received my share of shots from a few ‘dogs (DAWGS!) who read the blog when my ability to perform basic math was called into question.
Well… it appears that not everyone at Mississippi State knows how to add and subtract… this includes the writer of athletic press releases (I hope this wasn’t you P.K.) whom, I would assume, holds kind of an important role at a university with such a storied athletic history (‘member that game they won in the snow? NOBODY can win in SNOW!)
According to the Mississippi State athletic department, the Bulldogs actually have a better winning percentage after their loss, noting the ‘Dogs record at 4-2… which is odd because their record is 4-4.
From the ‘Dogs (DAWGS!) athletic department:
West Virginia scored 28 first-quarter points and the ninth-ranked Mountaineers never looked back in a 38-13 victory over visiting Mississippi State Saturday afternoon in the second meeting ever between the teams, the first on the Morgantown campus.
With the loss, the Bulldogs dropped to 4-2 overall. WVU improved to 6-1. The Mountaineers claimed both meetings in the two-year series, also winning last season in Starkville.
For our own keepsake, we took a screenshot of the page (which is posted below) just in case someone in the Bulldog nation got wise to the error over 37 hours after its posting.

The comments section is open… you know… just in case you wanna post a response.
