Our soldiers love Bush… quit hating him just because Obama smiles at you.

11:33 pm on May 30 2008Jon Stewart… cynic of cynics.
“Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.” - General George Patton
i think the jon stewart assessment is a bit off…i’d say he’s the satirist of satirists…perhaps the greatest of our generation…i see a trend in his show to give just as good to reps and dems alike…though perhaps tipping the balance in favor of the latter…the threat of shows like the daily show and satire in general is that it can breed cynicism rather quickly…however, it can also help encourage further participation in the political process which is, on one level, far from cynicism…i don’t feel like stewart is overrun with cynicism because i do detect a genuine interest in the political process and a concern for america to be the best it can be and often what it claims to be…in fact, the daily show has evolved into, ever present jokes aside, a much more serious and political program than it ever was under any other host…and while it took some getting used to, i think it’s a good thing…cynic of cynics belongs to bill maher who is his own worst enemy
Glad we see eye-to-eye on Bill Maher, Parker.
