I didn’t see last night’s speech. We were at dinner with some friends from LA, and I didn’t even get home until 11 PM. So… I’ll say this:
So if after last night you decided you will vote for Obama, please do so for reasons greater than “I hate Republicans” or “George Bush sucks” or “gas is too” high. Vote for him because you honestly believe in your heart of hearts, beyond the shadow of a doubt he is the better than John McCain. That his 143 days served in Washington (the number of days Obama was a Senator before he announced his candidacy for President) he learned all he ever needed to know — compare that to McCain’s 26 years in DC. If you can still vote for Obama… go for it; we could be in worse hands.
…62 days until Election Day.

9:54 am on Aug 29 2008I want solutions… not speeches. Obama is eloquent, but empty.
Obama is cake for breakfast. It sounds awesome when you’re young and immature, but as you grow up and learn more about life itself, you realize that you were blinded by emotion… that cake (a very good thing) isn’t good at certain times. In the same sense, Obama is a good guy, this just isn’t his time. Spending 1 term in the Illinois State Senate (which he was only able to do because of two sex scandals involving the two leading candidates) and spending a whole 143 days in Washington before running for President.
If you wouldn’t let a first year medical student give you a heart transplant, then why would you let a Junior Senator run your country?
Once more, if Obama is anybody’s President of choice, by all means, go for it. I guess I’m still just get a little nervous about a Presidential candidate who willingly accepted financing at his first fundraiser from an admitted, unapologetic terrorist.
See, this is why I wanted Kucinich
I love it…ripping a speech you didn’t even watch…talk about cake
Ripping the speaker… not the speech.
Liberals just don’t get it

What’s better?
A 47 year old man with admittedly limited experience who none-the-less convinced a large segment of the population to vote for him based on what they believe to be a sharp intellect, sound judgment and an ability to inspire and lead a nation, choosing a well respected and experienced statesman as his running mate to provide him with advice and, god-forbid something happen, be able to step right into the presidency…
Or a 72 year old man, who has been in the senate for over 20 years, who only recently changed his stance on a number of issues in order to make himself more attractive to the party faithful, apparently choosing for the person who is a heartbeat away from the Presidency, a Governor with less than two years of experience, 3 years younger than his opponent, whose main selling point is that she might attract the small percentage of Hillary Clinton supporters who are still bitter that Obama won?
The difference, Obama chose a partner to help him govern, McCain is apparently choosing a person only for the purposes of attracting votes and in the process is deflating one of the only arguments he has against Obama that has been sticking.
If experience counts for so much, why would McCain pick someone more unqualified than he says Obama is? If you’re going to pick a woman… why not someone experienced like Kay Bailey Hutchinson or Condi Rice or even Meg Whitman? I can’t believe I’m saying this… but Romney would of been a better choice.
