Coach Fedora spoke Thursday about DeAndre Brown’s off-season progress:

“He’s 6-feet-6 in his stocking feet,” Fedora said. “We’re not talking about a coach’s 6-6; he’s a true 6-6. He weighs 228 pounds and he can bench-press 345. We’re talking about a guy with a 17-foot wingspan (that is a coach’s wingspan) pushing up 345 pounds. He’s different, now.”

Our New Mariner

We flew-in recent signee Jack Wilson in on Wednesday. His quote about his first moment as a Mariner.

“I got here right as Griffey was hitting a two-run double down the line, so I was pretty pumped,” said Wilson, who watched the end of Seattle’s 3-2 victory over Toronto. “I was pretty excited to walk into that, put on the uniform, went in the bathroom and kind of looked at myself and was like, ‘All right, I’m a Mariner.’”

2-1

After leading the league with 2 wins, we fell last night 6-4; should’ve stopped 5 of them.

Oh… and I split the bottom of my toe openat some point during the match. Didn’t realize it until leaving the building. Doesn’t look anything like this though.

This may be my favorite quote from the Daily Mountain Eagle this year. In an article discussing the closing of Jasper’s sole skate park, 15-year-old Tyler Herron of Curry offers his 2 cents.

“They said people were drinking and fighting and smoking at the skate park and that’s the reason they closed it down. Well, people fight and smoke and drink at Wal-Mart and they don’t close Wal-Mart down,”
