Gizmodo: Kindle Helps You Sleep, iPad Causes Insomnia

According to sleep experts, the iPad’s bright LCD display could be hampering your body’s ability to create melatonin. Translation: Insomnia. The Kindle and other e-ink devices, on the other hand, won’t disrupt your sleep cycle.

Any of you bought an iPad yet? As I’ve mentioned before, I’m sure there’s a purchase in my future, though after the 2nd or 3rd Generation iPads (read: better, cheaper, with all the bugs worked out) have been released.

    NFL Draft Results

A rundown of the winners and losers.

    Best Overall Drafts

Seattle Seahawks: A win from start to finish. The Seahawks addressed just about every team need, and there were many of them. Getting Russell Okung and Earl Thomas in the first round was great, and Golden Tate could be a second-round steal, but the trades may make the biggest early difference. The Seahawks dealt a fourth-round pick for Titans running back LenDale White, and a fifth-rounder for Jets speedster Leon Washington. Depth picks helped their secondary greatly. For a first draft together, head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider hit it out of the park – on several different occasions.

Y’all know Paige. She’s a Jasper native, MSU grad, NYC resident.

    She also used to blog.

Paige isn’t blogging anymore, but she is running a race for a great cause, and she needs even the smallest assistance you can provide.

I know my odd Mariners love affair seems to have begun when I moved to Seattle. Truth is, I’ve been a Mariner fan for years. “Fan” may be an odd word. “Avid follower” might be more appropriate.

Stumbled across this SI cover of Jay Buhner & son last night. One of my favorites.

The theme I’m unsure of. The names I know, with the exception of one.

Sounders released an alternate 3rd kit.

Well that blows this out of the water. This too, for that matter.

A “kit” is what soccer teams (and newly created, snobby, know-it-all soccer fans like myself) call uniforms.
