Where the Red & Blue Wild Things Are
posted on Oct 4 2010

These lists, while not surprising for the most part, made me laugh. Evidently the way to unify America is through cooking and home decor.

I couldn’t help but laugh even haerder when I realized that I visit 5 of the 9 Liberal sites each day, yet only 3 of the 11 Conservative sites. This, liberals, is the definition of open minded. (Never tell me I don’t make a concerted effort to understand your often confusing and self-conflicting views.)

Thanks for the fundraiser, Karl… and for getting W in the White House.

Fox News contributor Karl Rove attracted state leaders to Mississippi College and help boost MC scholarships by more than $200,000.

The former White House Deputy Chief of Staff under President George W. Bush, Rove delivered the keynote speech Monday night at MC’s annual spring scholarship banquet.

Say ‘Cheese’, Mr. President
posted on Jan 24 2009

Eric Draper was the chief White House photographer for 8 years.

Q. What were the unexpected ways it changed your life?

A. For starters, I had to buy a suit or two. … Moving from quiet Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Washington D.C. was quite a flipflop for me…I really had no idea what I was getting myself into until I started… I traveled 18 months on the campaign and thought I knew what the president was all about, but I didn’t, until I went to work for him. … I was pleasantly surprised.

Also… Eric Draper was black.

Q. He wasn’t very popular in the African-American community. Did you get tired having to defend him?

A. I never had to defend him on the outside, and race was never an issue on the inside. What surprised you was that people of all stripes really respected the president when they stood right in front of him.

Defining ‘Republican’
posted on Jan 23 2009

From a Seattle Times article detailing the small, yet vocal conservative presence in one of America’s most liberal cities.

“A lot of Republicans in Seattle generally are transplanted from the East, and are looking for people who share their values,” he said, explaining that those values would be: “Family, pro-life, God, guns and babies.”

…can’t say I disagree. :)

“History will judge George W Bush.” …they say.

I don’t need history to judge. The man (who made many missteps) did a good job with the tools he had — at times, doing better than anyone else could have.

I love him. Seriously.

Listening to George W. Bush’s farewell address last night, I was reminded (because Barack won’t) that Bill Clinton had three chances to seize Bin Laden.

Most people don’t realize that fact, opting to “blame Bush” for not doing something he shouldn’t have ever had the option to.

Obama’s Inauguration Cost: $150-170 Million
posted on Jan 14 2009

You might remember that 4 years ago, the Democrats were outraged at the cost of George Bush’s second Innauguration. They demanaded that the money be spent on things the liberals deemed “more important.”

How interesting that in the midst of the greatest worldwide economic meltdown in 60 years, Obama is spending more than Bush’s 1st or 2nd innauguration, yet the Democrats, liberals, and media haven’t made a peep.

Bush in 2005: $40-70 Million
Obama in 2009: $150-170 Million

Ahhh, double standards.

Great ready, conservatives… we’ve got 4 (8) years of this type of behavior in front of us.

Bush’s Pardons
posted on Dec 3 2008

A nice, quick read on why Bush won’t pardon as many people as he could… and who Tucker Carlson thinks he should pardon.

…Bush hates pardons. Though he recently described himself “as somebody who liberated 50 million people,” he wasn’t referring to his fellow Americans. Over the past eight years, Bush has granted a total of just 171 pardons, far fewer than any modern two-term president. Bill Clinton, by contrast, pardoned 140 people on a single day at the end of his last term.

Why is Barack Obama’s Blackberry use such a big deal? There’s actually laws that come into play.

But before he arrives at the White House, he will probably be forced to sign off. In addition to concerns about e-mail security, he faces the Presidential Records Act, which puts his correspondence in the official record and ultimately up for public review, and the threat of subpoenas. A decision has not been made on whether he could become the first e-mailing president, but aides said that seemed doubtful.

Once, Bush had to face reality as well.

“Since I do not want my private conversations looked at by those out to embarrass, the only course of action is not to correspond in cyberspace,” Mr. Bush wrote from his old address, G94B@aol.com. “This saddens me. I have enjoyed conversing with each of you.”
