Every major mountain in Washington state recieved inches (up to 12 in some areas) early this morning… June 10 (10 days before the official start of summer.)
From King5 News:
- Weather Alert
Snow warning in the Cascades – The National Weather Service has issued a snow warning for the Washington Cascades tonight.
Yes… all this global warming is leading to snow just 45 minutes east of Seattle on June 9th. They’re even having to break out the snow plows.
We’re all gonna die… we’re all gonna die.
- The Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine this week announced that 31,072 U.S. scientists signed a petition stating that “… There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane or other greenhouse gases is causing, or will cause in the future, catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate…”

- “In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%…”
Al Gore’s home in past year could power 232 U.S. homes for a month.
It’s been a rough winter and cold spring around here (you know… with the global warming and all) though it appears that sunny days might be here.
Let the backtrackers and the nay sayers come forth. Greenpeace founder now backs nuclear power.

A new article (of many already posted) from blog reader and fighter against all things Al Gore, Drew Thornley.
Another big article for Drew Thornley who was featured on the front of National Review on wind energy.
On wind-generated electricity:
- For wind turbines to produce power, the wind must blow. Because the wind does not blow constantly, wind turbines produce a fraction of their potential generating capacities. Furthermore, winds blows the least during the summer months when electricity is needed the most.

For our weather this weekend in Seattle:
- The National Weather Service says a cold system from the Gulf of Alaska will drop low temperatures into the 30s with highs only in the 40s Friday and Saturday, climbing back to the 50s on Sunday.
There’s also a chance our mountains will get 2 feet of snow.

Global temperatures will drop slightly this year as a result of the cooling effect of the La Nina current in the Pacific, UN meteorologists have said.
This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory.
You know you’re in trouble when England doesn’t agree with the liberal agenda.

You global warming folks are going to look like idiots in 15 years: 18 states going to sue EPA over global warming
-
Duffy: “Is the Earth still warming?”
Marohasy: “No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you’d expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years.”
A couple tidbits about blog reader Drew Thornley. Just this past week, Drew was given a blogging post on Planet Gore of the National Review Online. Drew was also referenced by talk show host Rush Limbaugh in the following segment.
(PS – Just in case you’re new to the blog… we make fun of global warming a lot.)
-
Scientists such as Drew Thornley, he’s a policy analyst at the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Economic Freedom and the Center for Natural Resources, and a new Planet Gore contributor chimes in on the inconvenient truth of global cooling.
New data from these four major global temperature tracking outlets show that world temperatures last year dropped .75 degrees Celsius, large enough to wipe out virtually an entire century of warming.
I don’t know if Drew would consider himself a “scientist” per say… no more than Al Gore, which if you’re keeping score, levels the playing field.
The most interesting parts about Drew’s arguments are that he lends himself the the fact that if Global Warming truly exists in the form which Gore argues, it could actually be good for the environment.
Good work, Drew.
PSS – Yikes, look at that picture! It’s the only one I had of Drew in my stash. It’s from your wedding day, John Byars. at least I’ve lost 15 pounds and cut my hair by now.

“[I] don’t want to sort of leap into the larger meaning of, you know, inappropriately…”
No, Senator Kerry… not inappropriate at all. 50+ people just died and you want to use the opportunity to bash Bush and stump for Obama. Nice.
Meanwhile… China Having Coldest Winter 100 Years.
I’m not being a smart alec, I’m just looking for an explanation to the following:
-
Global Warming causes hurricanes, torrential rains and floods that have affected the Southeastern United States over the last few years.
However, Global Warming also causes the severe drought conditions currently found in the Southeastern United States during this summer and fall.
The Southeastern United States are experiencing a drought right now due to the lack of tropical storms (ie-hurricanes). I’m just curious. Not being rude, or making fun of your views, or the fact that your arguments crumble more and more everyday. Just curious… just curious.
