Third year in a row that @ianvisits photographs a seemingly abandoned London on Christmas morning. It’s marvelous.

We’re back from a cruise, and I’m sick! Woo-hoo, Monday!

  • Cruise 2011 on the Carnival Fascination with Chelsea and 6 other college or collegiate-related friends.
  • Half Moon Cay
  • Nassau
  • There an always-open pizza and ice cream bar on the ship. I gained no less than 33 lbs over the course of five days.

We’ve had this question around here before, though it’s always fun to ask for those who’ve changed their minds, and for those who’ve never answered.

If you could live in any city in the world, what would that city be?

Mine has always been Seattle (that’s why I move here, crazy face) though if I had to move from here somewhere else… it’d be to the pretty city pictured — London.

(Chelsea hates it when I take pictures of her)

    We. Are. Exhausted.

(…and don’t worry, we aren’t expecting any sympathy — I for one have been away from the office for exactly 2 weeks straight)

13 hours on a plane yesterday from London to Cincinnati and back to good ole Seattle.

We’ll be at the Seahawks playoff game tomorrow and we’d loved if you cheered for our ‘birds from your couch. Yes, we’re working one whole day before heading into the weekend. Poor us.

Alright folks, pictures, an odd time line of events, as well as a couple of stories later to come, but I’m writing this message at 9:35 PM on Thursday night, and my body thinks it’s 5:35 AM… I’m exhausted… night.

Out & About: Our End Of The Year Schedule
    posted on Dec 19 2007

under bigThis time of year (beginning about, oh, 4 days ago) is the slowest time of year on the blog. People are on vacation… spending time with family/friends… spending 5 hours in the Galleria searching for gifts, only after they spent 3 hours searching for a parking spot. We understand as we’re busy as well. However, that doesn’t mean the blog takes a break.

The blog will be on “auto post” for the majority of the next 2 weeks, which means that I’ll be feeding the beast jars of grape jelly and Twizlers. Treat the beast with respect and test the parameters of the updated comments section (ie-which words I’ve ‘blacklisted’).

    Christmas Holidays:

We’ll be home in Jasper from on December 21… in Jackson, MS on Dec 22 for David Ash’s wedding… back to Jasper from Dec 23-25…. then to Hattiesburg from Dec 25-28.

    New Years Holidays:

We’ll be in London from December 29-January 2, opting to ring in the new year along the River Thames. Posting will be sparse, but I’ll try to throw up a couple of photos if I get the time.

What A Difference A Week Makes
    posted on Mar 29 2006

I snapped this with my Treo yesterday at the gym. I was without my camera, so the camera phone had to be witness to one of the best sunsets I’ve seen in a while. The photo doesn’t do it justice.

This time last week I was in London, standing on Waterloo Bridge in 30 degree temperature… in the wind. Just to get this picturethis picure… and this picture.

By the time I got the shots I wanted, my left hand was numb, and my right hand was frozen in a claw-like position.

Today… I’m wearing shorts, and I rolled-down the windows to admire the blooming trees and flowers while driving to lunch.

Cold weather can kiss my butt.

    Mind The Closing Doors
    posted on Mar 29 2006

Remember me telling you that I saw something funny on the Tube in London?

    Here’s the video:

The man tried to beat the closing doors. As the doors shut, they caught his left elbow and left knee. He couldn’t move.

This short clip was all I could really get before I had to run down the platform to tell the tube conductor what was happening. I got pretty tickled when I first came across the scene. I talk into the camera a couple of times as I attempt to film inconspicuously from my hip.

By-the-way, he was ok after the doors finally let him go.

Tid-Bits From the Last Day in Europe
    posted on Mar 23 2006

So, I’m on a plane right now, but I’m not live-blogging or anything. Just an automatic post created last night.

Expect a post from my Treo sometime today when I use my cellphone for the first time in 37 days.

    Some thoughts…

  • Saw ‘Stomp’ last night. Although I’ve performed a number of routines from this Broadway/West End wonder, this is the first time I’ve seen it. Oh. My. Gosh. Incredible… but like Blue Man Group and Les Miserables, you can’t compare the three together.
  • Please pray that I don’t get stuck by another moron on the plane to Chicago. And also pray that the food is not made of fake meat. And also pray that homeless kittens would find a warm home, with warm hearts, and warm milk.
  • I bumped into some kids last night at ‘Stomp’ from Montgomery, Alabama. Interestingly…. or, uninterestingly, the conversation started when a girl saw my jacket and said, “Thank God somebody else is wearing a North Face jacket.”

I really had no idea how to respond to that, and too many jokes ran through my head. So, I quickly shifted the focus to our complimentary accents.

  • Jasper boys. Don’t forget, we’re headed to Perico’s tomorrow where I will order a Chicken Quesadilla with Spanish Rice and Pepsi… with all the free re-fills I want!
  • Pink! has already recieved an “award.”
  • I’ve never been so excited to get to the gym. I lost 1 belt notch on this trip, but don’t look any skinnier in the mirror, but my muscles are still unbelievably huge… seriously folks, it’s not even funny. (Sorry)
  • Have you ever been sitting beside someone whose breath is so bad that they are speaking in the opposite direction from your nose and you can still smell it?
