How To Use Your Electronics During Takeoff Without Getting Busted

If you were cruising a cabin for people listening to music, and saw a passenger with a pair of headphones folded neatly on his lap—unplugged cord in full view—you would naturally assume he wasn’t wearing his headphones, right? You would. And you’d be wrong. Because that guy is me, and I travel with two pairs of headphones: A set of cans carried mostly as a ruse (though it is nice to give the ear canal a break and switch up ‘phones on long flights), and a couple of earbuds whispering sweet nothings into my ears under my hoodie during takeoff.

Over lunch today, Andy Byars mentioned a problem that almost all web users experience with YouTube videos.

They’re choopy. They start, stop, start, stop, and you really can’t enjoy them.

Even I – the almightly blogger – experience this issue.

TIP: When you click the “Play” button, click it again when it turns into the “Pause” button. Let the entire video load (the gray line will move from left to right) and then hit the “Play” button once more when the video has loaded.

This works for ALL internet video streaming.

    That is all.

Gas Saving Tip of the Day

Buy gasoline during coolest time of day – early morning or late evening is best. During these times gasoline is densest.

Keep in mind – gas pumps measure volumes of gasoline, not densities of fuel concentration. You are charged according to “volume of measurement.”

  • To Sell or not To Sell?
    posted on May 23 2006

Many of you know that during my college days, I did quite well selling on eBay.

Obviously, I didn’t become a millionaire – but my skills are still summoned from time to time.

When they are it’s usually questions like “Do you think this will sell?” or “How much will this go for?”

Most items won’t sell, and I’m very frank about it. However, my insight is nothing compared to that of Sean Blanda, a former eBay employee.

He’s got some nice notes on what does and doen’t sell. So, whether you’re a budding entrepreneur or if you’re just trying to balance you budget… read the article.

[NOTE: I'm gonna cut Karen and Pettus off at the pass and go ahead and mention the infamous "pearl-gate" - ask me later.]

    Frosty
Yes, we’ve all tried to do it. And while its duplication maybe quite difficult, it is not impossible.

Top Secret Recipes points us to a few ingredients in which everyones favorite after-burger dessert might (might) be duplicated.

If it works for anyone, let me know. I’ll stick to a 99 cent drive-through until then.
