The movie at the 4 min 13 sec mark caused me to question my knowledge of gravity.

How many monitors do you have at home of at work?

At work I have 3, technically.
- Laptop
- Monitor hooked to laptop
- iPhone

I mention my iPhone because I use it as a notification device for news and information that many dedicate a single monitor to. Seriously, it buzzes all day long and is ridiculously annoying, which I’m sure reverses any productivity it might otherwise provide.

Also, I should note that when the iPad 3 (or whatever the heck they’ll call it… “iPad HD”??) is released next month I’m slapping one of these suckers to my monitor for a more improved viewing experience.

Gizmodo wrote a short piece on a NYT article. The learnings?

At Mr. Morin’s last job at Facebook, his boss Mark Zuckerberg apologized publicly more than 10 times for privacy breaches.

It seems the management philosophy of “ask for forgiveness, not permission” is becoming the “industry best practice.” And based on the response to Mr. Morin, tech executives are even lauded for it.

If winning counted for anything, the Big East would have invited Southern Miss instead of Memphis, Central Florida, SMU and Houston, the teams the Big East raided from Conference USA. Let’s put it this way: USM’s all-time record against those four schools stands at 58-27, including 40-21 against Memphis. In fact, USM’s record against all Big East teams stands 86-45-1. Yet, under current rules, the Big East champion gets an automatic BCS Bowl bid while USM plays in a conference that does not.

I’ve decided to continue my now twice run “Year In Beer” in which I simply list the beers I consumed in past year [see: 2011 and 2010] but will now break it down by month as opposed to one giant, year end pile with minimal annotations.

Snake Handler Double IPA by Good People Brewing Company here in beautiful Birmingham finally debuted in cans this month. The launch event was a blast, and this staple in my monthly beverage consumption can now be enjoyed while watching TV at my house. That makes me happy.

Also, I was quite taken aback by Miss Fancy’s Trippel by Avondale Brewing Company (also another Birmingham brewery) which topped out at 10% ABV (yikes) and is gracing the taps at Avondale’s incredible tap room.

In all, 36 beers consumed in January 2012, about half of which I’d never had before.
