welcome

Hello… reader. That’s what I’ll call you until you tell me your real name. I’m guessing that your name is Bob… or, if you’re a girl, then I’m guessing Bobina. Both are wonderful family names that should be passed down through future generations.

My name is Landon Howell, and this is my blog. Before you go prejudging me or falling madly in love with my poor writing skills, there are some things you need to know:

  1. Why is the blog design so boring?
It’s not boring… it’s simple. Content is king.
  2. Is this a serious blog?
While on occasion I choose address many serious and timely issues such as politics or Christianity, most articles are tounge-in-cheek. Each time you take one of my humorous writings too seriously, you lose a finger. Once all your fingers are gone you are no longer allowed to comment on articles. Not because I wouldn’t allow you too… you just wouldn’t be physically able to comment… your fingers would be gone.
  3. But what about the readers?
Your participation is encouraged and essentially required in order to keep people coming back. Most folks couldn’t care less about my writing; they simply read for the comments of others. Whether it’s snappy remarks that poke fun at my self-gloating, or simply emailing me an article of interest, I depend on you “reader Bob” to make this blog better everyday.
  4. Major topics of the blog.
I grew up in Alabama and spent my college days in Mississippi. Therefore, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that I write about the South a good bit. I’m convinced that the combination of food, friends, family, and faith found in the South makes it one of the most intriguing and inviting places on God’s green earth. If you don’t believe me, cover an Oreo in pancake batter and throw it in your fryer for 90 seconds.
  5. Anything else?
I currently live in Seattle. Next to my wife, my family, and my friends, I love this city more than anything. Subsequently, I talk about Seattle. A lot. It gets annoying. You’ll get used to it.

I hope you enjoy the blog. Feel free to express the love and hate you may feel for me by emailing me anytime. I will respond if your message is inspiring, or if you’re a tall brunette who loves to play tennis (check).
