It just needs to exist
As a emerge from my years-long writing coma, this post from Austin Kleon was perfectly timed.
I’m anxious when I think of posting, despite the drafts upon drafts of C- work that just needs a little love to get it across the finish line.
Maybe I’m anxious because I better understand how much I don’t understand.
Maybe I’m anxious because 26-year-old me had endless energy at the end of a 12-hour work day.
Maybe I’m anxious because I’m being forced to work writing/thinking/creative muscles I haven’t worked in years.
Austin — whose book Steal Like an Artist is the first thing I gift to anyone on my marketing or growth teams — has the following motto: “It doesn’t matter if it’s good right now, it just needs to exist.”
